I met up with Laura on Wednesday night to workout shoulders and calves. Upon arriving, she excitedly told me how she had reached one of her goals that she’s been working towards for just over 2 years. She did an underhanded lat pull down at 100lbs! Not only that but she did 3 sets of 6 reps AFTER she had done 3 sets of 87 lbs. I say that is AMAZING! So we celebrated with lots of “holy cow that’s awesome”s and then proceeded to our workout. I was thinking about how I could never do that (at least not yet) but at the end of our workout we were stretching and Laura wanted to try it again at 100lbs. I told her I wanted to document this moment so she sat down, started doing her reps and I snapped this awesome photo. Don’t let those pretty curls and lovely nails fool you! She can kick your butt

So anyway, I started to wonder if I could do at least one rep of 100lbs so after Laura did her reps I sat down. It was no easy feat at all but I managed to do 6 reps of 100lbs you guys!!! I am SO excited because for one, I didn’t think I could do it and for 2, I have made some serious gains in my strength over the last month. In case you didn’t see it closely enough….
*happy dance*
Some girls don’t want to get to that point but me? I’m all about liftin’ the heavy weights. It makes me feel strong and accomplished and capable…not to mention long bouts of cardio make me want to rip my hair out so I’d rather lift any day!
