Morning Coffee Stops

My morning began with my cat cuddling up to me and my alarm sounding annoyingly in my ears. I hit snooze probably 6 times. Finally I decided that if I wanted to have my shower this morning, I better get to it. I left my slumbering husband and my fluffy kitty and made my way to the bathroom. One thing I have gotten really good at in my time of waking up so early to be at work by 7 is that I can get ready in an hour....shower, wet hair and all. That's impressive if you know my routine of shower, lotion, makeup, dry and straighten hair, get dressed, pack lunch and out the door! This morning I was running a bit more behind than usual but I really wanted to make a quick stop at McDonald's to get a delicious cup of hazelnut coffee. Boy did I rush in and out of there, drove (safely) to work and arrived with 4 minutes to spare. Score! I sit here now sipping at my delightful drink going over in my mind the things that I need to do in the next 3 days.

I leave Friday afternoon to head to Missouri and I couldn't be more excited!! Well, I could be if Mike were coming with me but unfortunately he isn't able to make it out this time :( So I have to think about what I'm going to pack. So far I have about 4 gifts that I need to fit into my suitcase. I want to only take a carry on if possible but it might be that I just have to pay that extra to get everything to MO with me. It's a good thing that my sister and I are about the same size so I can borrow some of her clothes ;) The trip will be a fast one but a fun one. For my own fun (and possibly your boredom), I am going to go over the schedule:
1. Arrive around 8:30 in KC airport, drive 2+ hours home, visit with my family and friends along the way and then sleep.
2. Wake up the next morning, get ready and go to church, come home, have a lovely dinner at Meme's house, then the Fall Festival is going on in the local town so we'll go to that and enjoy friends, food and fun. Afterwards, I want to go see Bobby and Jenna and their new baby boy, ogle over him and wish I could have a baby, then go home to hang out with the fam. and have my bff spend the night.
3. Sunday morning, wake up and have breakfast, have wonderful conversation with my lovely family, then head to the local greasy spoon diner and enjoy a fun lunch of burgers and fries...my treat! Enjoy the rest of the afternoon with them and then pack my things and head to Nevada to see another friend of mine who had a little baby girl, visit with her for a while and then off Britt and I go to Overland Park for a quick sleep.
4. Oh Monday Monday...wake up around 4, get dressed and ready and head out to the airport where I hop on the plane, have a quick flight home and then straight from the airport, head to work. THAT is going to be a fun thing to do ha!
I'm quite excited to see everyone though. It will be a quick trip but a fun one and full of family and friends and joy.

On a more random note...I love Taylor Swift. Tis true. I think she's one of those beautiful souls who is actually using her talent for something good, who is loving to so many people and inspiring as well. I really do love all of her songs. Her old album that came out I believe in 2007 is really good and I could definitely relate to it at the time. She just writes from the heart and you can tell that. When I hear her music, I think of sunny days in the country, cute summer dresses, jean jackets and boots, old trucks, fishing ponds, long dirt roads and fields of corn. I told you I'm a country girl at heart...it's true.

Mike and I took a walk last night after dinner. It was really nice to just hold his hand and walk down the road just laughing and dreaming together. Gosh do I love that boy. We talked about how big of a yard we want when we purchase a house. Lol, it's a joke between us because I love land and want a big yard...he has grown up in the city his whole life so a yard to him is not totally necessary. Anyway, it was fun to just talk about a potential yard with flowers and a garden and a fence ;)

The more I think about journaling, the more I think I might want to hand write it out. Just for the sake of posterity you know? Just being able to hold the book and read it anywhere or write from anywhere...I don't know. I really like this blog though because I can update at work; it keeps me entertained. I would need to buy a nice, new journal...

Well, I think I'm going to go for now. Might update more later if I get bored...so far it's really slow at work.

Peace and love,
Lizzy
