I have been sick sick sick the last few days! :( I have a really bad sore throat and runny nose and just all over feeling like crap. I am pretty sure I had a fever here or there the last few days but I haven't officially checked my temperature. I am still working though and that's the sucky part. I hate missing work. we get occurrences for each day we miss with at least a 5 day notice and I had 0 for the longest time but one of the days 2 weeks ago, I had the worst cramps of my life so I stayed home and slept a lot but it was lovely. Anyway, I wish I could do that right now but I don't want to take anymore unnecessary time off. I am sitting here half asleep as I type this. UGH.
It's so grey and cold outside. Lovely for sleeping. I'm really thinking about going home soon. We will see.
Christmas is 3 days away!!!!!!

Me

Winter Colds and Ugly Sweater Parties
I guess it technically isn't winter yet but it sure feels like it with snow on the ground and a freezing 22 degree drive to work. Yes. It's frigid out here. Along with this frigid weather, my throat is quickly becoming sore and my nose is getting runny. Lovely. I noticed that really early this morning when I should have still been sleeping. I stirred and so did my kitty who quickly snuggled closer to me. I breathed in and not only did I smell last night's chili (sick), but I swallowed and my throat hurt :( So I am drinking a hot cup of coffee this morning and so far it feels good going down.
Boy am I glad it's Friday. We have a busy weekend ahead of us but we can sleep in if we want and we only have fun things planned! Tonight is my husband's work's Christmas party, aka: Ugly Sweater Party. It's going to be at the Grand American in SLC. That is the hotel we stayed our first night as a married couple in and holy cow it's an amazing hotel. We get to see Neon Trees play live and we are going to have some contest and prizes and great food and drinks. I am SO excited. We went ugly sweater hunting last night and found the only thing that worked at Walmart! Mike's could be considered a nice, normal sweater, but for him...it's definitely ugly. Same for me too haha! I will definitely be posting pictures tomorrow.
So I made my tasty vegetarian chili last night and, it was so good! You can see the recipe HERE on my lizzyfitness.com blog. I'm trying to post more recipes and try newer things. My husband loves chili so this is a new favorite of ours. I've also made potato and spinach balls and 2 Romanian dishes that I still need to post about.
My job is really rewarding lately. I am SO blessed to have landed this job. After all, it's where I met my husband! Not only that but I get paid enough to be able to frequently fly home to see my family or friends. That in itself makes this job worth it. I have been able to pay off most of my debt so far and now Mike and I are going to purchase a home. So many great things! Just a quick reflection ;)
Anyway, work calls...as always. I will be posting pics of our fun tomorrow! Happy Friday everyone!!!!

9 Days until Christmas!!!
It's officially in the single digits until Christmas day!!! I am beyond stoked! I love waking up on Christmas morning and kissing my husband awake jumping up and down on the bed exclaiming, "Merry Christmas!!! Get up get up!!!" It makes me feel like a kid all over again. ;) I looked at the 10 day weather forecast for our area and it looks like the 23rd, 24th and 25th will all be sunny and in the 40's. HECK YES! I don't like snow or freezing cold so that is just find and dandy with me. I can't wait until we have little kiddos who will be the ones to wake us up at 6 in the morning with their little fuzzy pjs. I love little kids in those footed pjs. It's the cutest thing! I think I have a few more things I want to get for Christmas but I am pretty much totally finished with shopping which makes me feel pretty dang good!
So the house hunting extravaganza is going very well so far! My hubby and I have found several places that we like a lot so the next thing we are going to do is research what we need and then take the tours! There are several apartments, a few condos/townhomes and a couple of real houses. We are thinking that we want to buy an apartment though but we shall see. Have any of you purchased homes/apartments before? What tips or advice would you give for first time buyers??
So I have posted a few tasty recipes on my www.lizzyfitness.com website lately. You should check them out! I am planning on posting a vegetarian recipe for chili today or tomorrow so look out for that too.
This post is short but as I'm at work, I gotta get crackin!
Peace my friends,
Lizzy

Holy.Crap. News
No no, probably not what you're thinking BUT!!!!! Mike and I officially talked about having a baby. No joke. Like we are talking real plans here people. I'm beyond stoked. I mean, I've wanted a baby since I was like, shoot, 15! Haha but we are doing it the right way for us. We need to make a plan and set up goals and look at options and the like. The funny and awesome thing is that Mike is the one who brought it up! HE was the one who pondered on these things and asked ME the questions. I talked with HR today at work and found out about coverage for pregnancy and maternity leave and such and so now I have that info. We are going to start a savings asap and get something set up so that I can take off about 3 months from work. Now, I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to be a stay at home mommy but that might not be in the cards at least right away. We will see what God's official plan is but here is what we are thinking. I take maternity leave for about 3 months and then come back to work but only part time. I'm literally thinking like 20 hours a week or so. But during that time, Mike has to be home and vice versa. I don't want daycare and I don't want his mom to raise our babies. He agreed to that so I am really glad because that was a huge thing on my mind. Basically we want to do the following before having a mini-me...or mini-Mike lol:
1. TRAVEL. We have a trip to Romania planned next fall, a CO trip planned for my bff's 21st and a TX trip planned the end of this year and the beginning of next year. I am so ready to travel. I've always loved it.
2. Save money. We want to have as much as we can in savings so that when we do have a baby, we won't be suffering for money during those 3 months and after. Once my debt is paid off (March 2011 baby!!!), I am going to be putting huge chunks of money into savings for that exact thing.
3. We'd LIKE to get a down payment on a house but that isn't a requirement for us. We are not sure we're 100% ready to settle down in one certain area yet so we are going to take our time and look :) If we have a baby in the mean time, then that's that.
4. Go back to school. I have a degree but I miss college. So I want to just take some independent classes and so does Mike. This too is not a requirement but just something we'd like to do. Mike wants to go for his degree and so we are thinking fall of next year.
So if we happen to get pregnant the end of next year, that would be great timing in my book! So I'm very stoked and like SHOCKED that Mike was even thinking about it without me bringing it up! I wanted to just share my cool news even though I'm not sure who really reads my blog haha. I don't post much, I know :-P Maybe now I will have something to post about!
Lots of love,
Lizzy

Yayyy!!!
Well, this isn't Colorado...it's Utah. But it's still a mountain ;)
This isn't CO but it's in Cali when my dad, brother, cousin, uncle and I took a pack trip!
And finally, this is CO for real ;) My mom took this pic last summer when they were on a pack trip.
I'm packing and cleaning and about to go shopping and getting everything organized to head out to CO tomorrow! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep I'm so excited. I will be taking tons of pics, so I'll post them asap when I get home.
Have a happy, fun-filled weekend!!!

Friday Musings
I really really enjoy reading all of these blogs that I've been reading lately. Sometimes I feel like I'm living vicariously through you guys LOL. No but really, I love reading and could read all day about the random things that are posted. And lately, I've been really into reading birth stories. I know that seems weird because I'm not pregnant and probably won't be for a while, but I know that I will be someday so I can kind of imagine myself in that place and...it just makes for an interesting read for me.
So anyway, onto other things!
1. Yesterday I took 3 hours of personal time from work so I could get my name changed FINALLY. I have been so lazy with that but mostly because I didn't know where to go and it just seemed annoying and confusing but I decided to just do it. I got to the DMV and realized, I only had a copy of my birth certificate and I needed the original. So....I just went home and watched Teen Mom. Mike had printed out a form that I needed to fill out in order to get my birth certificate so I filled that out and sent it off. And now I wait.
2. Today is my brother-in-law's birthday. Tomorrow we will celebrate it by going to breakfast and then to a movie. Should be a really fun day. I'm excited! Plus it's the weekend and I want to sleep in and relax and not worry about things that I "have" to do. Bring on the freakin' weekend!
3. My sister is coming to visit Mike and I next month for Thanksgiving and I can hardly wait. We bought her plane ticket the other day so it's official! She'll be here from the 20th - 29th. We have made many a list of things that we want to do together while she's here including cooking a huge Thanksgiving meal. It will be my first so I'm slightly nervous but mostly can't wait for it.
4. Fall is definitely here. It's been really rainy/cloudy lately but I love it. I love how it illuminates the green that is still left on the trees and the grass. Snow is another thing...that would be dreary to me so I'm going to soak up the cold days without snow while I can. It just seems cozier.
5. I have been trying to workout more lately and get to my goal of 115 or at least more muscle and less flab. So far it's going pretty good. I've worked out about 3 times this week. I normally would be disappointed that I didn't workout more but I'm gonna give myself a break on the guilt ;) I've been eating less and eating better as well so I'm just going to sort of go with the flow while still being (mostly) good. I am somewhere between 126 and 128 currently. So I have about 12 lbs that I want to lose. I'm hoping by the end of this year but eh...we'll see. I have been updating my www.lizzyfitness.com blog more though and I'm almost to 1,000 uniques for the month!! Exciting!
6. Mostly my life is quite consistent so nothing interesting is going on right now. I can't wait for the day when this blog turns into a baby blog. I'm obsessed which is a bad thing I guess and sort of annoying to me since I can't have what I want right now. On a good note though, Mike and I are working really hard to pay off our debt. At the rate I'm going, I will have all but my school loans paid off by MAY of next year. WOW...for me, this is amazing. Let's just see how much debt I have gotten myself into since I moved away from home at 18.
- car wreck in December of '07. My fault, 2 cars involved, no insurance. Talk about a wake up call.
- $3,000 credit card, almost 30% interest rate.
- Ideal Image laser hair removal (finally paid off now).
- $3800 car (will be paid off in December YAYYY).
- small credit card $600 (will be paid off in December as well!).
- I did owe my Meme some money (a lot) but she crossed that off as paid in full. She is so amazing let me tell you. She practically paid for our wedding. I am just so blessed to have her in my life. It's our little secret that I'm her favorite grandchild ;) Shhhh...
- then of course school which is FREAKING annoying but oh well.
- other smaller debts that I've paid off over the last few years as well that I don't wish to remember ;)
So needless to say, I can't wait to be out of debt and putting my money towards things that I actually want or need. Savings account, house, traveling, eventually babies, etc. I am stoked. And Mike just has his car to pay off and then we are good. Man this is a good feeling. We both agree that we are happy that we got into the whole debt thing early on in life and learn our lesson rather than later on when we have kids and more responsibility.
Speaking of traveling; I have a "baby bucket list", or in other words, a list of things I want to do/places I want to visit before we have kids! Here it is:
A) Travel to Colorado for a visit. This will be checked off next weekend!
B) Take a long weekend and fly to Cali and go to the beach.
C) Trip to Romania to visit Mike's family. This will be checked off next fall!
D) Visit my family in Alabama.
E) Go to Vegas and celebrate my best friend's 21st. This should be crossed off in December of next year.
F) Get to my goal of 115 lbs
G) Purchase a house or apartment.
H) Finally pass my exam and become a personal trainer.
Those are the main ones. I have lots of smaller things I could add but if I accomplish all of what I listed above, I will be just fine. Since I have to wait until Mike thinks he's ready to have a baby, I figured I could have some fun ;)
I think I should head out now. I've been typing your eyes off for way too long...so off to work I go! TGIF friends!
Love and Friday,
Lizzy
